Film production for Scotland's cultural heritage sector
Creating stories
that get seen
At Yellow Tree Films we help you create authentic stories that get seen.
Founded by Chris Marks, a film producer who has worked with National Museums Scotland, the BBC, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Paisley Museum, Dynamic Earth, Glencadam Distillery, National Library of Scotland, Bowmore Distillery and many others, Yellow Tree Films specialises in making high quality films for Scotland’s cultural heritage sector.
Collaboration is at the heart of every project, from first idea to finished film, ensuring everything we do fits your aims, your ambitions and your budget.
So whether you need AVs to engage visitors, brand films to drive footfall, or content to boost online followers,
Yellow Tree Films can help.
Let’s start the conversation today.

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh
Films
Yellow Tree Films is working with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to document the restoration of the Garden’s historic glasshouse complex. Our films capture the horticultural care and engineering skills which combine to secure the botanical collection for the next generation. We are also working with RBGE to produce films for permanent display once the Palm Houses reopen to the public.
"Since 2021, Chris has been central to the production of a series of creative, dynamic and engaging films that showcase the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s Palm Houses restoration project. Throughout, Chris has shown creative flair and dexterity, capturing key landmark moments and working closely with our teams to effectively communicate the importance, excitement and progress of the programme. We look forward to working with Chris again."

Paisley Museum Re-Imagined
Museum AVs
Our creative team worked on the refurbishment of Paisley Museum. We collaborated with the museum staff to produce more than 20 AVs including short films, animations and soundscapes telling the stories of the town, from riots, punk and weaving to toilets, fashion design and ornothology. We were across all aspects of the project from creative development, scripting and casting to filming, illustration, animation, editing and sound design. The museum is due to reopen in late 2026.
"Chris produced and directed a wide range of films for Paisley Museum on a variety of topics. He consistently rose to every challenge, developing each brief with imagination, insight and passion. He took the time to get under the skin of the stories we wanted to tell, approaching all twenty-plus films with real creativity and professionalism. We were consistently impressed with both the quality of his work and his working process. Chris was a delight to work with, and we would happily work with him again.”
